"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Sauce – Ragu
Lasagna Noodles – #1
˝ Lb Brick Cheese, shredded
˝ lb Swiss Cheese, shredded

Directions:
Directions:
Boil noodles as directed on package. The sauce can be plain or have ground beef in it. Take oblong pan (9” x 11” x 3”) and spread about ˝” sauce in it. Then place 3 – 4 noodles on the sauce, then enough cheese to cover the noodles. Then start over with sauce, noodles and cheese until all ingredients are used up, ending up with sauce and cheese on top.

Add about one TBL of water in each corner. This will keep it moist.

Cover pan & bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour

“PS: This makes quite a bit for two people so I cook only about 9 noodles and cut the amount of cheese in half.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Aunt Martha Sandrus - Grandma Brain’s half brother Bill’s wife
From Lorry - These are recipes from distant relatives. Most of them were collected by Aunt Robbie and given to me as a wedding present. A few are not even relatives. Ask your mom (or Grandma) to explain who they are or I have tried to explain myself as I went along. The brackets [ ] are my own comments. If there was something fun written on the recipe when it was given to me I put it in quotes.
