1 cup molasses
1 cup boiling water
1tsp baking soda
3 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
½ cup butter
9 “ unbaked pastry shell

Directions:
Directions:
Combine molasses, water and baking soda – bring to a boil. Boil 1 minute or until light in color. Sift together flour & sugar. Cut in butter with 2 knives or pastry blender to a crumble consistency. Pour molasses mixture into pastry shell – cover with crumbs. Bake in hot oven 425* 40 minutes. Cool.
