2 pounds Turnips
4 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp chopped chives
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Heat a large pot with salted water, bring to a boil.
Peel the turnips, cut into 1/2 inch dice.
Add turnip chunks to the boiling water and cook for 8 minutes or until tender.
Drain.
In a 12 inch skillet, melt the butter on medium heat.
Stir in the honey.
Season with salt and pepper.
Cook one minute, stir often.
Add the turnip chunks and cook for 4 minutes. Stir continuously. Turnips should be well coated.
Garnish with chopped chives.
Taste, add salt and/or pepper if you think it’s needed.

Turnips are often overlooked. In German Cooking they are seen more frequently.
This is a super easy and quick recipe for a different but tasty side. I’ve seen Marlene add a few pieces of crumbled cooked bacon and some bacon grease to this recipe.
