1 cup brown sugar
½ cup butter
1 egg
¼ cup buttermilk
2 tsp rootbeer extract
1¾ cup flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt

Frosting:
2 cups icing sugar
⅓ cup butter
1 tsp rootbeer extract
1-2tbsp hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375ºF.
Combine brown sugar, butter and egg - beat until fluffy.
Stir in buttermilk, rootbeer extract, vanilla, flour, baking soda and salt. Mix.
Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least one hour.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets about 2 " apart. Bake for 5-6 minutes or until cookies are very lightly browned. Remove from pan and cool. Frost.

In medium bowl, mixing icing sugar and butter until smooth. Stir in rootbeer flavour and enough hot water to make a smooth icing.Frost cookies.
