Directions:Scald milk, add butter and stir until melted. Add sugar and salt and stir until dissolved. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast to warm water and add to milk mixture. Add 1 c. of the flour and beat well; add egg and beat 2 minutes longer. Add 1 more c. of flour and beat well, then add remaining flour and mix well. Place on floured board and knead lightly about 8 times. Dough will be sticky. Place in well-greased bowl, turn to coat, cover and let rise until double. Roll out dough to an 8x20" rectangle. Completely cover the dough with 1 Tbsp melted butter
Spread cinnamon mixture evenly over the surface, reserving about ¾ c. for the top. Roll up starting with the long side and cut into 20 even pieces. Melt 5 Tbsp butter in a 7x10" pan and put the rolls on top, cut side up. Press down on rolls to force butter up around rolls. Spread with remaining sugar-cinnamon mixture, and press down again. Cover and let rise until double (about 20 minutes). Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes. Cool until just warm and frost. |
