* 1 1/2 cup of flour
* 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
* 1/4 tsp salt
* 1 cup sugar
* 1/2 cup of butter at room temperature(no substitutions)
* 1 egg
* 2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the flour , baking powder and salt in a small bowl.
In a mixing bowl beat the sugar , butter , egg and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Stir in the flour mixture and mix until blended. Shape the dough into a log 15 inches long. Wrap the log in plastic wrap and refrigerate.for at least 2 hours up to 3 days prior to baking. The dough can be frozen for up to 3 months. Cut the chilled dough into 1/4 inch thick slices and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350*f oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly golden brown on edges. Bake at 375*f if crispier cookies are desired.
