1 1/4 c. cornmeal
1/2 t. salt
2 1/2 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together the cornmeal, water and salt in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until mixture thickens, about 5 to 7 minutes.

Pour the mixture into a loaf pan and chill completely. (I let it set in the refrigerator overnight.) Remove from the pan and cut into slices about 1/2" thick. Coat with flour and put into hot oil over medium-high heat. Brown on both sides. Butter and serve with syrup.
