* 2½ cups flour
* 1 tsp baking powder
* 1½ tsp baking soda
* 2 eggs
* 1/2 cup shortening
* 1/2 cup butter
* 1 cup creamy peanut butter
* 1 cup granulated sugar
* 1 cup packed brown sugar
* 1 cup sugar, for rolling cookies

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl mix flour, baking powder, and baking soda, set aside. In a large bowl cream together butter, shortening, peanut butter, one cup of sugar, brown sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients and mix well, chill dough. Roll dough into 1¼ inch balls. Roll balls in sugar. Place 3 inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Flatten the balls in a crisscross pattern with a fork dipped in sugar. Bake at 350º 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on racks. Makes about 6 dozen cookies
