1 c vegetable shortening
2 large eggs
1 c sugar
½ t vanilla
½ t lemon extract

Directions:
Stir flour, cream of tarter, and baking soda together three times. Cut shortening into dry ingredients with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Beat eggs until foamy and add sugar gradually. Add vanilla and lemon extract. Mic thoroughly with flour/shortening mixture until a very soft dough is formed. Roll as thin as possible on floured cloth. Using cookie cutters, cut out forms and bake on uncreased cookie sheet for 10 min in 350º oven. Watch carefully, they should not be brown. If you want to make a wreath, use 2½ or 3 inch donut cutter, bake undecorated. After baking, decorate top with double green frosting leaf and put three cinnamon red hots in the center of each cluster.
