1 cup starter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
⅔ cup vegetable oil
2 cups flour
1 ½ teaspoon baking soda
1 ½ to 2 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 cup chopped apple (optional)
1 cup raisins (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix starter with oil, sugar, and eggs. Mix flour, soda, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Slowly add to wet ingredients. Beat well until smooth. Fold in nuts, apple, and raisins, if desired. Bake at 350°F in a greased and floured tube pan for 50 to 60 minutes. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan. Cool completely on a rack.

Remaining starter can be divided into 1 cup portions and given to friends with the cake recipe.
