6 - 7 c powdered sugar, unsifted
¾ c solid vegetable shortening
½ c water
1½ t vanilla extract
½ t almond extract
¼ - ½ t salt
food color (optional)

Directions:
In a large mixer bowl at low speed, beat 5 cups of powdered sugar, shortening, water, vanilla, almond extract, and salt until well blended. Beat in enough of the remaining powdered sugar until piping consistency. Tint with food color if desired.
