4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 TB sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 c. shortening (I use butter)
1/2 c. water
1 egg, beaten
1 TB vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening (butter) until mixture is crumbly. Add water and vinegar to egg, stir well. Add to the flour mixture and mix well. Don't overwork the dough or pie crust will be tough. Freezes well.

This is the pie crust I grew up on. Meme always baked chocolate, coconut cream, lemon merange and fruit pies. What a treat to smell a freshly baked pie as it came hot out of the oven!
