1 head cabbage
2 c. rice (par-boiled long grain)
2 lb. ground pork, not sausage
1 qt. tomatoes, crushed or chopped
1 qt. sauerkraut
1 onion, chopped
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. paprika
2 tsp. Vegeta

Directions:
Sauté onion. Add paprika to sautéd onions. Steam de-cored cabbage heads until leaves are limp. Save the middle of the cabbage for chopping. Mix rest of seasonings, onion and pork together with rice. Cut the heavy vein on the cabbage making it thin. Place meat mixture in center of leaf and roll.
How to fold: Place the cabbage vein towards your wrist, fold from pinky over 1/2 way and then fold from the vein, rolling tightly. Poke the top portion down into the roll. Put fresh dill in bottom of pan. Mix kraut, tomatoes and chopped cabbage together. place layer on bottom of pan. Place rolls seam side down in pan. Top with kraut mixture. Put water and salt so they don't burn.
Oven: Bake 2 hours at 350º
Crockpot: High 4 hours or on low 8 hours

Sis. Maria Strizu often made these. Dad was always happy when he was given some of these. They are good served with sour cream on top.
