Sauce:
3 large cloves garlic
1 large onion
1 tablespoon sweet basil
½ teaspoon salt
1½ teaspoon garlic salt
3 tablespoons parsley
1 small can tomato (6 oz) paste
1 can tomato puree
1 large can (28 oz) tomatoes
2 links sweet Italian sausage

Meat balls:
1 lb. hamburger meat
1 cup unflavored bread crumbs
½ romano or parmesan cheese
2½ tablespoons dried parsley
1 heaping teaspoon sweet basil
1 teaspoon garlic salt
½ teaspoon salt
3 cloves garlic, finely diced or pressed
3 eggs

Cut garlic and onion and place in food processor or blender. Process. Add remaining herbs and seasonings and process until very fine. Place in large pot. Pour tomatoes into blender and process. Add to pot along with tomato paste and puree. Use each empty can and add one can of water per can to the pot. Simmer 4 to 6 hours. Add water if needed.

Meatballs:
Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Add 2 to 3 additional eggs if needed as you mix by hand. Brown in frying pan sprayed with Pam or brown on a cookie sheet in a 400º oven. Add meatballs to sauce and let cook for at least an hour, longer if desired.
