Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1½ cups butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1½ tsp cinnamon
5 cups flour
5 tbsp milk - maybe tad more

STROOP:
1½ cup corn syrup
1½ cup stroop (one orange container)
6 cups brown sugar
2½ cups butter
4 tbsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together butter and sugar. Add egg, seasonings and flour and milk.
Roll into 1 inch logs, and slice off ½ inch at a time - or whatever measurements work for you and your wafel maker.
Put into wafel maker, close lid and cook. As soon as ready, take out and cut in half immediately. Pour a little stroop on one side, and put the other side back on. Let rest until stroop has hardened.

To make stroop - throw all ingredients in a dutch oven or large pot. Melt and bring to boil. Once boiling, turn heat off, or REALLY low, and use. If stroop thickens up too much, then warm up again on stove top.
One batch stroop is good for two batches dough. Unused stroop can be frozen for another time.
