Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1 lb shortening or butter
pinch of salt
1½ tsp. baking soda
1½ tsp. baking powder
2 oz. egg (1 large egg)
½ c water
Vanilla - a cap full
1¾ lbs flour (7 cups)

Filling
Use 1 can Raisin Pie filling

OR
3 c. raisins
3 c. water
1 c. brown sugar
¼ c. corn starch (use water to dilute)

Directions:

Ok, here is my best guess, as Dad didn't write any instructions!

Combine brown sugar, white sugar, shortening or butter, salt, baking soda, baking powder, egg, water, vanilla and flour to form a dough.

Filling, if you don't use a can of pie filling (which I recommend), then bring the raisins and water to a boil, cooking until tender. Add brown sugar and diluted corn starch for thickening as needed.

From them, be creative on how you make into a cookie that is filled!! Maybe cut out circles with a cookie cutter. One one cookie put a spoonful of the filling in the middle. Take a second cookie and place on top, pinching the sides to seal???

Anyone else know how to put these together?
I recall not liking these cookies, so didn't pay much attention!
