Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef (I like the chili grind)
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
4-6 cloves garlic (more or less, depending on your taste)
1 can tomato sauce
2-3 cups beef broth
1 can chili seasoned/ready tomatoes (I like the RedGold brand)
Variety of Chili Beans (I prefer Bush's and use their different varieties from mild, medium, spicy, kidney, etc.)
1 can black beans
2 bay leaves
1 T chili powder (or more)
2 t salt
1 T worcestershire sauce
pepper
1/4 t crushed red pepper
1 small can diced green chilis
1 small can diced jalapenos
2 t paprika
1 T sugar
1 t dried oregano
1 - 2 t cumin (according to your taste preference)
1/4 t celery salt
1/4 t cayenne
1/4 t dry mustard
Few drops bottled hot sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Brown ground beef
Saute onion and green pepper as meat drains
Add all back to pan and add additional ingredients

I don't measure my spices...I toss in to taste so my measurements are probably more than the above.

I probably put in 5 cans of different kinds of beans in every batch but Jeff and I love beans so you can do as you prefer with the beans. Bush's is definitely our favorite!!

I use a variety of chili powders from Penzey's spice, too.

Personal Notes:
I combined two recipes from a cookbook I think Mom probably gave me - Better Homes and Gardens Soups and Stews cookbook, 1978.
