Buttermilk Brownies


Ingredients:

1 stick of Margarine
1 c. of Water
¼ c. of Dry Cocoa
½ c. Oil
2 c. Flour
2 c. of White Sugar
½ tsp. Salt
½ c. of Buttermilk
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 tsp. Soda


Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400º.
2. Put the first 4 ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil.
3. In separate bowl, mix together the dry ingredients (flour, sugar and salt) and add the rest of the ingredients.
4. Add boiled mixture to the bowl and mix.
5. Pour into 11x16 inch greased pan and bake for 15 minutes.
6. Frost immediately.
 

Buttermilk Brownie Icing


Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
1 stick of Margarine
¼ c. of Dry Cocoa
⅓ c. Buttermilk
3-4 c. Powdered Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine the first three ingredients together in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
2. Add remaining ingredients and spread on hot brownies.
3. Add chopped walnuts if desired.
