1 cup sugar
½ cup shortening
2 eggs
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp soda
¼ cup hot water
1 tsp salt
1½ cups flour
2 ripe bananas (1 cup)
walnuts and chocolate chips, if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Set oven to 350º. Spray or grease 2 loaf pans. Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add the rest of ingredients and fold in bananas at the end. Bake for 1 hr. Let cool on rack for 10 minutes and invert onto a plate.
