3 Carrots, cut in 3 inch pieces
2-3 Med Potatoes, quartered--optional
3-4 lbs Corned Beef Brisket, rinsed and trimmed
2 Med Onions, quartered
¾ to 1-1/4 cups Water
½ Small Head Cabbage, cut in wedges—optional

I also add the seasoning packet that comes with the beef.
Put all ingredients except cabbage wedges in Crock-pot in order listed.
Cover and cook on Low 10-12 hrs. (High: 5-6 hrs). Add cabbage wedges to liquid, pushing down to moisten, after 6 hrs on Low (or 3 hrs on High).
Vegetables may be varied or omitted for plain corned beef.
