6 C. Flour Sifted
2 T. Baking Powder
2 C. Sugar
3 tsp. nutmeg
1 Box Currants
1 1/2 C. Shortening
1/2 C. Milk
4 Eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs and milk together and set aside.
Mix dry ingredients put shortening in mix and then
add currents. Make a hole in the flour mixture and
put the beaten eggs and milk into the center and stir.
Now mix with hands. Divide dough in half and roll
out 1/3" thick.

Cut and bake on an ungreased griddle on about
260º to 300º

She cut with glass and sprinkle with sugar on both sides while
baking.

I call this a coffee cookie. We love this cookie, Mimi has been making this for as long as I can remember. Bonnie my other Mom, this is her Mom's recipe that she shared with Mimi. Very special lady!
