2 1/4 cup brown sugar - packed
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup (light) corn syrup
1 16oz can sweetened condensed milk
Candy thermometer

Directions:
In a saucepan, melt butter. stir in sugar and salt, then add corn syrup and mix well. Add sweetened condensed milk - stirring constantly. Continue stirring and cook to 245 degrees - I use a candy thermometer. Remove from heat.
Pour into a 9 inch square pan. I butter tin foil and put it in the pan to make lifting out the caramels easier. Place on cutting board and cut pieces to size. I use a rocking pizza cutter or sawing motion with a steak knife.
