One whole chicken
1 tablespoon oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon
1 Tablespoon catsup
1/4 apple juice
1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
One garlic clove pressed
One green onion sliced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds

Directions:

Heat oil in Dutch oven, brown chicken on all sides. Mix together so he sauce, brown sugar, water, catch up, apple juice, red pepper, garlic, and green onions. Doesn’t work pour mixture over chicken. Cover, and simmer 30 to 45 minutes.
Remove chicken to platter, draining juices back into pan. Blend together cornstarch and water stir it into sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Spoon some sauce over chicken, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve chicken with remaining sauce. Serving over rice is a family favorite.

Optional - Sesame seeds need to be toasted to develop their Not like flavor. Toast sesame seeds in the shallow pan at 350°F 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
