1 lb. hamburger
1/2 large green pepper - chopped
1/2 large onion - chopped
Chili powder
1 can chili beans (I do NOT drain these beans)
1 can kidney beans - drained
1 can Mexican Stewed tomatoes
1 can stewed tomatoes
salt and pepper
water - I generally rinse out the cans and add to chili

Optional: frozen chili sauce

In a large pot brown hamburger with onion and pepper - season with chili powder and salt and pepper to taste
After hamburger is browned, add beans, stir, then add tomatoes
Rinse out chilil bean and tomato cans with water and add to pot/. (You can add as much water as you like)
(Add frozen chili sauce if you're using it -)

Simmer - can be a short time or a long time!

Have made this since I was married. It varies slightly each time!

Jon would like to add the frozen "chili sauce" occasionally - - it's a nice change

This is a good "standby" - - easy to make - - especially for a large group - - and easy to "expand" if necessary by adding more meat, beans, or tomatoes!
