1 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 slightly beaten egg white
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c. sliced almonds

Directions:
Directions:
In mixer bowl, cream together brown sugar and butter till light and fluffy; beat in egg yolk and vanilla. Stir together flour and salt; blend in creamed mixture, mixing well. Pat dough evenly in ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch cookie sheet. Brush top of dough with egg white. combine granulated sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle evenly over dough. sprinkle almonds over all, pressing them down lightly. Bake in 350 º F. oven 15 minutes. cut in 1 1/2-inch diamonds while warm. Makes 4 dozen
