1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
3 1/2 cups (or less) rice kripies or special K

(I've used corn flakes in a pinch)

frosting: 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butterschotch chips


(good with all semi-sweet chocolate chips. Only a thin layer of chocolate is needed.

Heat brown sugar and corn syrup in mediup pot on low head - until sugar is melted
** do not allow mixture to boil - this will make squares hard
Remove fro heat and mix in peanut butter and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Stir in cereal until well belended and spread into a 9" X 9" buttered pan.
