Act quickly:
The best plan of action when it comes to treating stains is to treat them as quickly as you can. The 2 things that help a stain take hold into your precious fabrics are TIME and HEAT. If possible, treat and wash your clothing as soon as you can. Letting it sit around will give the stain time to really set in. Being a busy mom, this isn’t always realistic. My tip here is to at least wash out the stain quickly and leave it to soak in a little bit of salt water until you can get to the stain. The salt will naturally begin to break down the stain. This also keeps the fabric from drying out, which further sets the stain. Make sure a stain has been completely removed before drying it.

TEST ON MATERIAL BEFORE PUTTING ALL OVER!!!
NEVER DRY ANYTHING THAT YOU WANT TO GET A STAIN OUT - DO NOT AIR DRY OR PUT IN DRIER!!!!

Directions:
Directions:
Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide works to reactivate many stains. They can even help to remove things like coffee and tea. One of the most beneficial uses of hydrogen peroxide is that of removing blood, both dried and fresh, from fabrics. To do so, blot it onto the stained area. Allow to bubble for a few seconds and then blot out. Repeat this as necessary in order to remove as much of the stain as possible. Launder the item as usual.
WD-40
This is a great tool to have to fix those squeaky hinges but it also works great at removing grease from fabrics of all types. You can simply spray the area that has a grease stain on it with a light coating of WD-40. You can then wash the fabric with liquid dishwashing detergent (I use Dawn) or as you normally would. It can even help to remove some set in grease stains like those from salad dressing and greasy fried foods.
Vinegar:
Like I said before, do not use vinegar on protein stains. But if you have other stains, especially tomato or berry stains, vinegar is your best friend. Just rinse the stain then soak the article of clothing in vinegar and water. The stain will magically disappear.
What about those yellow sweat stains? Try soaking it in a bit of vinegar. If that doesn’t do it. Make a paste with vinegar and baking soda, rub it on the stain, and allow to sit for at least 30 minutes before washing.
Vinegar can also be helpful in removing old stains. Simply soak the stain in a vinegar and water overnight, then scrub with an old toothbrush and some Dawn dish soap.
Natural stain removal
Depending on the severity of the stain, try a combination of these natural tricks to get your whites sparkling clean.
Rust stains: Remove as much of the pesky stain as possible before treatment. Saturate the stain in lemon juice and then sprinkle salt directly on it. Let the mixture react overnight then rinse it with cool water. Do not use hot water, as it will set the stain. Repeat these steps if the stain persists.
Grass and ink stains: Drench the stain in cheap vodka (yep, vodka!) and launder as usual.
Red wine stains: Immediately pour salt on the stain to absorb the moisture. Let the salt work its magic then scrape it away. Next blot the stain with liberal amounts of club soda.
For all other stains, try dabbing the area with lemon juice, vinegar or hydrogen peroxide

BONUS TIPS:
For ink stain: Try soaking the stain in rubbing alcohol for an hour.
For gum: Place article of clothing in freezer and the gum should scrape off once frozen.
For musty towel: Because we NEVER leave wet towels bunched up in the hamper OR forget to flip the wash into the dryer…. Combine 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide and 1/2 cup vinegar let stand for 15 minutes then wash as normal. Gets rid of the smell.
