Filling:
2 cups dates
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 tbsp lemon juice

Crumb Mixture:
1 1/3 cups flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 3/4 cups rolled oats
3/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix together dates, sugar, water and lemon juice in saucepan, simmer then cool.
Combine crumb ingredients together then press half into a baking pan.
Pour date filling over base and spread.
Then top with the remaining crumb mixture and pat gently.
Bake for 20 minutes or until top is toasted.
Let cool and cut into squares.
