1 cup butter
1 cup powder sugar
1 egg
1 tsp peppermint extract
1 tsp vanilla
3 cps flour
½ tsp salt
red food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients in the order listed/ Divide dough in half. Blend red food coloring into one half of the dough.

Refrigerate for at least an hour.

Roll into strips about 4 inches long and as round as a pencil. Place shapes together side by side, twist like a rope. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Curve top down to form handle. Bake about 10 minutes in a preheated 375º oven. Transfer to a wire rack for cooling with a spatula while warm.
