2 lbs. beef or lamb or mutton cut in cubes
4 sliced onions
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. paprika powder
1 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. coriander and cumin powder
2 tbsp. ginger paste
2½ tbsp. garlic paste
1 tsp. green chili paste
1 tbsp. of tomato paste
4 chopped tomatoes
½ bunch of chopped cilantro
½ cup yogurt
1 tsp. garam masala
2 cinnamon sticks
4 cardamom pods
4 cloves

1. Marinate beef in yogurt, 1 tbsp. of garlic, 1 tbsp. ginger, paprika powder, 1 tsp. of salt, ½ tsp. of green chili paste, 1 tbsp. lemon juice and keep aside in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
2. Fry onions in 5 tbsp. of oil until they are golden brown and keep them aside.
3. In a pressure cooker, heat 2 tbsp. of oil, you can use left over oil from the onions. Add 1 tbsp. of ginger, 1 tbsp. of garlic and fry for 45 seconds.
4 Add cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods and cloves.
5 Add tomatoes and cook until they are soft. Add the tomato paste and 1 tbsp. of cilantro..
6. Add the marinated chicken, 2 tbsp. of fried onions, coriander and cumin powder and turmeric and cook for about 5 minutes until the spices have blended in.
7 Add 1 - 1½ cups of water and close the pressure cooker. Let the meat cook for about 15 minutes on medium heat.
9. After 15 minutes open the pressure cooker and check if the meat is cooked. If not close the pressure cooker and cook for another 5 minutes. Check to see if there is any water to be added. If the mixture is dry add ½ cup of water.
10. Lower the heat, add ¼ bunch of cilantro, fried onions, sprinkle garam masala and lemon juice and let it simmer. Taste for salt and spiciness.
11. Garnish with chopped cilantro and have it with Naan.
