1 loaf – Texas toast OR French toast bread
8 – eggs
2 c. – milk
2 c. – half & half
2 tsp. – vanilla extract
½ tsp. – cinnamon
½ tsp. – nutmeg
¾ c. – butter (1½ sticks)
1 & 1/3 c. – walnuts, chopped
1 & 1/3 c. – brown sugar
3 T. – dark corn syrup

Stack bread in greased 9 x 13 pan to ½ inch from top of pan. In large bowl combine eggs, milk, half and half, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Combine butter, walnuts, brown sugar, and corn syrup. Mix thoroughly. Crumble topping mixture evenly over prepared French toast. Bake in a 350° oven for 50 minutes until golden. If toast browns too quickly, cover with aluminum foil while baking.
