8 large cabbage leaves (from outer layers of cabbage)
½ C. water
1 lb. ground chuck beef
1 egg
1 C. packaged precooked minute rice
1 T. chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
2 8-oz. cans tomato sauce
1 T. sugar
1 tsp. oregano

Directions:
Place cabbage leaves and water in a 3-qt. casserole dish. Cover. Microwave on High 7 to 9 minutes, until pliable. Meanwhile, mix ground beef, egg, rice, onion, salt. Divide beef mixture into 8 rolls, about 3-in. long. Place roll on base of leaf over heavy vein. Fold sides over meat; roll up. Secure with toothpick if needed. Return to 3-qt. casserole, placing rolls seam side down. Blend sauce, sugar and oregano. Pour over rolls. Cover. Microwave on High 14 to 16 minutes, rotating ¼ turn and basting after 9 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes. Makes 8 cabbage rolls.
