Mixed spices
1½ cup vinegar
1 cup sugar
½ cup water
cooked beets
hard boiled eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Tie about a thimbleful of mixed spices in a cloth bag. Bring the vinegar, sugar, water, mixed spices and beets to boil. Remove spice bag. Pack beets with whole hard boiled eggs in jars and pour vinegar mixture over. Screw on tops and store in refrigerator.

Pickled beets can be sealed in sterilized jars and sealed for storage.
