Pudding:
1 c pitted dates, cut up
1 c boiling water
½ c sugar
½ c brown sugar
1 egg
2 tbs butter, melted
1½ c flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 c chopped walnuts

Brown Sugar Sauce:
1½ c brown sugar
1 tbs butter
1½ c boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dates and water. Blend sugars, egg, and butter. Sift together dry ingredients; add to sugar mixture. Stir in nuts and cooled date mixture. Pour into 11x7x1½" baking dish.

Brown Sugar sauce: combine brown sugar, butter, and boiling water. Pour on top of batter in the baking dish.

Bake 375º about 40 minutes. Cut in squares; invert on places Serve warm with whipped cream
