Add 1 cup water to 2 cups raisins, boil 5 minutes. Cool.
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
4 cups flour
1 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
1½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp allspice

Cream butter, sugar, add eggs. Mix in prepared raisins, vanilla and nuts. Sift together the dry ingredients and add to raisin mixture. Blend well. Drop by tsp on greased cookie sheet. Bake in hot oven, 400º, 12-15 minutes.
