Directions:
Melt the butter in a small sauce pan and stir in the flour. Let the paste cook on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes without browning the mixture. Slowly whisk in the chicken stock, working out any lumps. Bring to a simmer. Add cream, soy sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire, and then season to taste. Remove from the heat. Once slightly cooled, combine the mixture with the green beans and cheese. Adjust seasoning again. Place mixture into an oven-safe container and top with as many fried onions as desired. Bake at 350º F. until the onions are browned and the mixture is bubbly.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
David and I visited the Middleton Place Plantation in Charleston, South Carolina. 1kAfter touring the beautiful grounds of the plantation we were starving so we had lunch at the restaurant. Our lunch came with two sides. We both got this green bean casserole. It was so good and I asked about where to get the recipe. Someone suggested to email the food contributor to the local newspaper to see if it had been published. She reached out to the chef at Middleton Place and he was so flattered that he sent her the recipe.
