Directions:1. In a mixing bowl add ground beef, 1 tbsp. of ginger paste, 1 tbsp. of garlic paste, ½ tsp. green chili paste, ½ tsp. of salt, ½ tsp. turmeric powder, ½ tsp. coriander powder, 2 tbsp. of chopped cilantro leaves, ½ tsp. of garam masala. Keep aside for 15 minutes to marinate. 2. In a heavy saucepan or dutch oven, on medium high heat olive oil, add cinnamon, cardamom pods and cloves and fry the onions until golden brown. Add ginger, garlic, and fry for about 1 minute. 3. Add tomatoes and cook until they soft . 4. Add tomato paste and cook for a minute. 5. Add ½ tsp. coriander powder and ½ tsp. of turmeric powder, and blend in the spices for 30 seconds. 6. Add lemon juice, salt, chopped cilantro. Leave some cilantro for garnishing. 7. Add the water and let it come to a boil. Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer. 8. Take the ground beef and make tight round balls and place them on a plate. If the meatballs stick to your palms rub olive oil on your palms. 9. Increase the heat of the sauce and add the meatballs slowly. 10. Cook for about 2 minutes and do not stir too much to avoid the meatballs from breaking. 11Once the meatballs are hardened, add potatoes and lower the heat to simmer. Cover the saucepan and let the potatoes and meatballs cook for about 15 minutes on low heat until you see the oil at the top. 12. Sprinkle garam masala and cilantro.
Serve with Naan or Rice. |
