6 medium yams or sweet potatoes, cooked, peeled, quartered; or 2 cans (17 oz. each) yams, well drained
½ c. light or dark corn syrup ( I use cane syrup or sorghum.)
½ c. firmly packed brown sugar
¼ c. heavy cream, half-and-half, or canned milk
2 Tbs. butter
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. ground cinnamon

Place yams in 13x9 baking dish. Bake in 325º oven 15 minutes. In saucepan, mix remaining ingredients. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil and boil 5 minutes. Pour over yams. Bake, basting often, 15 minutes more.
