½ c. butter or margarine
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
¼ c. molasses
2¼ c. flour
2 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
½ tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
⅓ c. granulated sugar for decoration

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and molasses; mix well. Add dry ingredients; mix well. Cover and chill dough for 2-3 hours minimum.

Preheat over to 350º. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Dip and roll in the granulated sugar. Place on cookies sheets lined with parchment paper. Bake 10-12 minutes or just until edges are firm. Remove from oven. Let cool x 1 minute on cookie sheet, then transfer to wire rack.
