11 large or 12 small whites of eggs
1 c sifted flour before measuring
1 1/3 c sifted sugar
1 1/2 t cream of tartar
1/8 t salt
1 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Add salt to egg whites and beat until forming; add cream of tartar. Beat til they form a point. Add sugar 1 tablespoon at a time. Add flavoring. Sift in flour very slowly, beating all the while, but don't stir. Cook in very slow oven for 30 minutes, increasing to a high temperature for 10 minutes.
