¾ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
¼ cup molasses
2¼ cup flour
2 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
¼ tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. cloves
1½ cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening and gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating until light and fluffy.Add egg and molasses; mix well. Combine flour soda, salt and spices. Add to creamed mixture mixing until well blended. Stir in raisins and chill. After chilling at least 20 minutes, shape into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar.Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake 375º for 10 minutes or until lightly brown
