1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 ½ cups warm water
½ cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 cup evaporated milk
7 cups all purpose flour
¼ cup shortening
Vegetable oil
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, sprinkle yeast over water; stir to dissolve.

2. Add sugar, salt, eggs, and milk

3. Blend with blender

4. Add 4 cups of flour and beat until smooth

5. Add softened shortening and then beat in remaining flour

6. Cover and chill overnight

7. Roll out on floured surface to ¼ inch thickness

8. Cut into 2½ inch squares

9. In deep fryer, heat oil to 360º - 370º F

10. Fry dough squares until they puff and are golden brown

11. Drain on paper towels and toss in powdered sugar
