1/2 c butter, softened
3/4 c white sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1 c pumpkin
2 eggs
1 tsp maple extract (or vanilla)
2 1/4 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp ginger
18-20 pecan halves

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugars. Add pumpkin, then eggs, then vanilla.
In another bowl, stir together dry ingredients. Blend into wet ingredients on low for one minute. Increase to medium for one minute.
Drop 2 TB dough into parchment paper lined baking sheets, two inches apart. Press a pecan half on top of each.
Bake at 350° until the top springs back when touched lightly, about 16-18 minutes.
