2 sticks of butter = ½ Pound
¼ cup of Crisco
3 cups white sugar
5 eggs
3 cups white flour
½ tsp baking powder
1 Cup whole milk
½ tsp lemon flavoring
½ tsp almond flavoring
You can use 1 tsp of any flavoring of your choice
1 tsp vanilla

Be sure to have all cold ingredients at ROOM TEMPERATURE.

Grease and flour a 10” tube pan. Cream butter, crisco and sugar until well blended. Add eggs one at a time, beat after each addition. Beat all together to blend well. Add flour, baking powder and milk alternately, Add flavorings! Beat all together. Pour batter into pan. Place in COLD OVEN! Turn oven on, set at 350º. Bake 1-1/2 hours. Remove from oven. Wrap entire pan in heavy aluminum foil. Set aside and don’t unwrap until it is COLD!

This recipe was given to me by an elderly female patient at a Family Medicine Office that I worked at 25 years ago. She was the sweetest! She and her sister would bring the office “treats that were home cooked” frequently! I have used Orange flavoring, on occasion! The addition of a glaze or icing makes it even more yummy! Enjoy!
