3 egg whites
1/8 t cream of tarter
1 cup sugar
1 cup saltine cracker crumbs
1/2 cup nuts

1 can cherry pie filling
(could use any favorite flavor. raspberry with fresh raspberries folded in would be delicious)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat room temperature egg whites and cream of tartar.
Add sugar, soda cracker crumbs and nuts.
place in 8x8 pan. Bake 350º oven 15 minutes.
Cool and top with fruit topping.

Serve with whipped cream or cool whip.

Mom got this recipe from the lady that Dad sold the "red buick" to. Her recipe named the lady, putting "red buick' in parentheses after her name. Dad called it "Red Buick" dessert ever after.

Could be made with raspberry or blueberry pie filling, then adding fresh berries to pie filling.
