2⅓ c. flour
1 box brown sugar (1 lb.)
1½ sticks butter
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix flour, sugar, and butter. Take out one cup of the mixture to use later.
2. To the remaining mixture, add buttermilk in which the soda has been dissolved, into eggs and vanilla.
3. Pour into a greased 9 x 12 glass baking dish.
4. Sprinkle the cup of dry mixture on top. (add nuts if you like)
5. Bake 40-45 minutes at 350º.

This was made by my grandmother Cox and her daughter-in-law, Marjorie Beck Cox. The recipe was doubled because it was eaten so fast!
