1 large jar of dried beef, cut into pieces
2 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons flour
1 1/4 cup milk, heated
Salt
Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in a heavy bottomed saucepan. Stir in the flour and cook, stirring constantly until the paste cooks and bubbles a bit, but don't let it brown. About 2 minutes.

Add the hot milk, and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Add salt, pepper and sliced dried beefed and cook until thickened.

Serve on toast.

My father, Dusty Parsons, would often make this for us, but he used browned ground beef in place of dried beef.
