Store bought flour, any amount

Place flour in freezer for 48 hours to kill bugs.
Transfer flour to food-grade container (plastic, glass etc.) with an air-tight lid.
Store flour in cool dry place, away from sunlight--flour will keep up to 6 months in pantry.
Flour can be stored in freezer for several years, but its best to use within a year.
Whole grain and specialty flours should be stored in the fridge or freezer.
If your home doesn't have air conditioning, move flour to fridge or freezer for the summer months.
