2 cups milk
1 cup butter
1 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
4 eggs, beaten
2 pkg dry yeast
7 cups flour
2 tbsp boiling water
1 cup white raisins

Crumbs:
1 stick butter
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup sugar
pinch salt

Directions:
Directions:
Pour milk into sauce pan, add butter, sugar and salt. Heat until butter melts. Cool.
Pour boiling water over raisins and let sit for 15 minutes.
Dissolve yeast and 1 tbsp sugar in ¼ cup warm water. Add to cooled milk mixture. Add beaten eggs and stir again. Add flour, a bit at a time, stirring, then beat well. Add raisins and beat again. Set aside, covered, for 1 hour. Grease 3 or 4 bread pans and divide batter into the pans. Sprinkle with crumbs. Let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 350º for 35-45 minutes.
