For each serving, you should use one large potato and half a medium onion.

Cube potatoes and chop onions. Cover with salted water and boil gently until potato cube is just tender, Drain.

Add 1/2 Tablespoon butter per serving to pot and return potatoes and onions to the pot.

Add whole milk to cover the potatoes and onions.

Add salt and pepper to taste and heat on low.
